Coagulation Testing Services

The Special Coagulation Laboratory Service is a subsection of the hematopathology laboratory that includes bone marrow collection and processing and flow cytometry. The laboratory section is CAP and CLIA accredited. The section provides a full menu of special coagulation assays including; all clotting factors and inhibitors, proteins C and S activity, ATIII, von Willebrand’s antigen and ristocetin co-factor activity, heparin-induced thrombocytopenia antibody detection, DRVVT and hexagonal phase phospholipid assay for lupus anticoagulant detection, anti-cardiolipin antibodies and platelet aggregation studies. Testing panels are available for hypercoagulability workups, von Willebrand screen, lupus anticoagulant and platelet aggregation and include an interpretative report by the section medical director.
